Show details :
Based on the acclaimed novel by Michael Morpurgo, War Horse is the story of Joey, a Devonshire horse caught in the crossfire of World War I, and his former owner Albert’s quest to find him. Through Joey’s eyes, the true nature of war is revealed, from the terror of battle to touching moments of sacrifice and heroism.
At its heart, War Horse is about lifelong friends Joey and Albert, a young horse and boy who form a distinctive bond torn apart by the outbreak of war. Both are subjected to unimaginable terror leaving us with hope that their courage will eventually see them through and with a War Horse theatre break, you too will embark on their stark, powerful, yet uplifting journey.
What to expect :
A War Horse theatre break will put you in the centre of an award-winning production by a global staff of directors, actors and puppeteers. With a story by a former children’s laureate and a production by the internationally renowned National Theatre, the magic of one of the greatest and recent plays in the West End will come to life before your very own eyes.
Handspring Puppet Company’s majestic and beautiful horses have to be seen to be believed, and a War Horse theatre break is really the only way to do it. Audiences return again and again to this mesmerising show, and London is waiting for you to join them. War Horse is a play that truly supersedes the book and film – an incredible work of art and a must-see package.
