Richard Bean’s hilarious update of Servant of Two Masters (1743) brings the action to Brighton in 1963. Adapted by Bean for the National Theatre in 2011 with James Cordon starring as the unwitting Frances Henshall, the show has since stormed the UK, had Broadway in stitches, and has been seen all over the world in an international tour.
After his skiffle band fires him, the nice-but-dim Frances Henshall inadvertently becomes employed by two men who mustn’t know he is employed by the other. One employer, Stanley Stubbers, is a criminal of class, and the other, Roscoe Crabbe, is a local gangster.
Little does Frances know, Roscoe is actually Rachel, impersonating her twin brother who was killed by none other than her lover, Stanley Stubbers. A One Man Two Guvnors theatre break will have you weeping with laughter at this tour de farce of masterful comedy.
With a mix of original skiffle songs written for the production, and expertly-timed slapstick comedy from a succession of incredible comic talent, One Man Two Guvnors theatre breaks guarantee you a fantastic evening of laughter.
