The scene is London in the swinging sixies, and Greg wants to marry his lover Ginny after a beautiful whirlwind romance. Besotten with her, despite the tell-tale slippers by the bed and chocolates in the hallway (neither his), Greg resolves to secretly follow Ginny to her parents’ house that weekend to get permission to propose.
But Ginny isn’t going to her parents. She’s off to break things off with her married lover, Philip, who’s in the country with his wife, Sheila.
Greg thinks he’s speaking to Ginny’s parents, Philip thinks Greg wants to marry Sheila after an affair, Ginny convinces Philip to pretend to be her father and Greg can’t understand why his future father-in-law hates him so much. Relatively Speaking theatre breaks promise a hilarious mishmash of crossed purposes and mistaken identity!

The play only has four characters, which enables a snappy crossfire of one-liners and scathing indictments between the confused lovers, with more than a dash of bawdy wit. Relatively Speaking theatre breaks also include the immense talent of Felicity Kendal, Jonathan Coy, Kara Tointon and Max Bennett.
