Riverdance is a theatrical production based on traditional Irish stepdancing; it is a show that fuses together music, dance and storytelling into a spellbinding evening of entertainment. Riverdance was first performed at the interval of the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, receiving a standing ovation and instant popular success. It was soon adapted into a stage show or roughly 20 songs, and continues to enthral audiences around the world. This 20th anniversary of Riverdance is set to be a particularly special version of this theatrical phenomenon.
If you have somehow managed to never see Riverdance in any form, we suggest you watch a recording of a past show to see just how epic and beautiful this production can be. With the Riverdance 20th Anniversary tour, you can expect to see an exceptional performance of the traditional Irish stepdancing at the Edinburgh Playhouse.
