The world famous Cirque du Soleil returns to London to showcase another epic of acrobatic brilliance, unique storytelling and sensory delight. Dralion is a fusion of contemporary western circus and traditional Chinese acrobatic arts; this synthesis is represented by the Dralions, mythical beasts that are half dragon and half lion. This unity of the East and the West is used partly with great symbolic power, but most impressively in the unbelievable acrobatics and visual spectacles.
Four characters in the show represent the classical natural elements of air, water, fire and earth. As humans take on nature’s form and the cultures of the globe are blended, humans and nature become one and the world becomes perfectly balanced. These ideas underpin the sensational display of talented acrobats, dancers, gymnasts and, of course, clowns, all working together to create one of the greatest shows on earth.

While Cirque du Soleil reflects on an undercurrent of big ideas, and achieves a rich depth in doing so, one cannot forget that the show is primarily a bonanza of visual beauty. Breath-taking acrobatics, daring stunts and striking poses give the audience an exhilarating experience; they watch on, hearts in mouths, as the sensational movement of the characters generates an awe-inspiring spectacle.
