The Elephant Man

The Elephant Man Theatre breaks

About the show

Transferring from its acclaimed Broadway production, film star Bradley Cooper plays John Merrick (aka ‘the elephant man’) in a hugely successful run of Bernard Pomerance’s 1977 play, The Elephant Man. From The Booth Theatre in New York to London's Theatre Royal Haymarket, the play has attracted huge audiences and an exceptional critical response. This limited 3-month run is the hottest ticket of Summer 2015.

Elephant Man theatre breaks will be available through TicketTree as soon as tickets go on sale, giving you an opportunity to see this biographical play that tells the extraordinary story of Joseph Merrick. Merrick, born with deformities in Victorian Britain, faced a life of objectification in which he faced the judgemental onslaught of the British public. The story follows Merrick’s life as he meets those who want to help him and those who want to exploit him.

"Bradley Cooper reminds us some stars can act" - The Guardian
"[There is no mask, no plastic fakery, no false hunchback. This makes it a singularly theatrical experience. Simply by dint of his art, good-looking Mr Cooper persuades us that he is this pitiable, and soon engagingly likeable grotesque." - Daily Mail
"Bradley Cooper deservedly won a Tony nomination for his performance as John Merrick... and it's a pleasure to welcome him to London in this expert revival of a beautiful play" - Whatsonstage
