About the show

Having run for over a quarter of a century in theatres around the globe, Les Miserables is one of the most famous musicals - so it comes as no surprise that it's up there with our top-selling theatre packages.

Adapted from Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel, this epic theatre production spectacularly portrays two decades of bloody revolutionary unrest in France.

The play follows Jean Valjean, a disaffected ex-convict who seeks redemption after 19 years behind bars for stealing bread to feed his niece. After breaking his parole, Jean Valjean is pursued by the relentless police inspector Javert.

Passion, betrayal, love, honour, life and death are all at the heart of Les Miserables, and throughout the show you'll witness and experience Valjean's struggles and his fight for survival and freedom.

Reviews of Les Miserables

“The greatness of Les Misérables is that it starts out, like Sweeney and Peter Grimes and for that matter Rigoletto, to redefine the limits of music theatre” - Sheridan Morley, Punch

“The show is an important one, bridging gaps between musical and opera […] an unforgettable Act 1 finale, one of the best I have ever seen” - Michael Coveney, The Financial Times

“By the end I felt I had seen something beyond both improbability and sentimentality, an almost mythic clash between two definitions of justice and Christian obligation” - Benedict Nightingale, New Statesman
