• Pricilla the musical is an adaptation of writer Stephen Elliott’s 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert written by Elliott and Allan Scott.
• The film starred now major Hollywood actors Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce, and of course Terence Stamp (a role which won him both a BAFTA and a Golden Globe for Best Actor)
• Pricilla, Queen of the Desert was first performed at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney, Australia in October 2006 before transferring to Melbourne then over to New Zealand in 2008.
• The original 2009 London cast included Jason Donovan in the role of “Tick”.
• Actor and recording star Bette Midler was one of the 2011 Broadway show’s producers, getting involved after seeing the show in London.
• Pricilla is the name of the bus in which the three main characters travel from Sydney to Alice Springs.
